Family Road Trip

We were so excited for the school holidays this year as we had a fantastic family road trip planned to the Jenolan Caves. We were going to stay for 5 nights and enjoy some great tours while we were there. My two kids - 8 and 6 - were beyond excited and had been telling their friends about it all year long. What we didn't expect was our detour to the invisible house.

On The Road

Travelling with two kids under 8 means constant pit stops along the way to stop them from getting too bored in the car. Plus, it is always nice for us to have a bit of a stretch as well. We were due for that break when I jumped onto Google to see exactly where we were and what there was in the area. Many of the sites suggested paying a visit to 2493 Jenolan Caves Road - the site of the invisible house.

The View

The views there are amazing, sweeping out over Megalong Valley and backed by the beautiful bushlands. The children fell in love straight away and went for a big run around the place, getting up to mischief in the bushland and generally enjoying the outdoors. My husband and I watched on from underneath the shade of the Outdoor Designer Shade umbrella. My husband and I realised this was what was missing from our house, as we had nowhere for the family to get outdoors and enjoy themselves.

Home

When we got home from the trip, I started the search immediately. It only took me a few hours to find the perfect umbrella for our backyard, a durable 3 metre aluminium umbrella with a UPF rating of 50+. While we wouldn't be making our tree change to the invisible house straight away, we could enjoy our backyard just a little longer.
